John Stanton is sentenced to five months and 29 days in jail
On December 15, 2011, Hillsborough County Circuit Court Judge, Caroline Tesche, convicted John Stanton of criminal contempt at the conclusion of a two-day trial. Mr. Stanton did not appear for the second day of his trial, and he owes his former wife $10 million in unpaid alimony and child support. Michael Lundy, counsel for Ms. Susan Stanton, states that it was proven that Mr. Stanton did in fact have the means to pay and Judge Tesche agreed. After finding Mr. Stanton guilty, Judge Tesche sentenced him to five months and 29 days in jail. A warrant for his arrest was issued. Bay News 9 was present to cover the hearing.
